Assistant Credit Controller

We are recruiting for an Assistant Credit Controller.

To effectively manage the Credit Control function, ensuring prompt collection to maximise cash availability, reducing debtor days, and highlighting customer issues to minimise risk.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Chasing trade debtors for payment, via email or phone and help resolve Customer Payment Issues
  • Recording communications with customers and CAE colleagues on SAP
  • Escalating issues with aged trade debtors to Sales Managers, the Finance Director and CCO
  • Liaising with internal colleagues to resolve customer queries (IAMs, AM, SAD, Management)
  • Liaising with Commercial for outcome of Credit Checking and ensuring appropriate terms and insurance limits are recorded in the ERP system
  • Minimises debtor days through robust Customer collection and dispute resolution
  • Sending out invoices, supplier statements and collection letters promptly
  • Taking appropriate action with aged debts – putting accounts on stop or issuing final demand letters
  • Taking PDQ payments from customers
  • Assisting the Credit Controller with monthly Cash Forecasting activities
  • Printing customer remittances for cash allocation
  • Liaising with and Support the Finance team with Customer queries and monthend reporting
  • Reviewing customer accounts on SAP for unallocated transactions
  • Producing weekly report of aged balances, highlighting significant movements and areas of concern
  • Advising Financial Controller on bad debt provision
  • Assisting the Financial Controller or Finance Director when required
  • Assisting with the year end audit

Knowledge & Experience

  • Credit control certification desirable
  • SAP Knowledge desirable
  • Good command of MS Office particularly excel
  • Experience of working in Credit Control
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
