The Role

As Account Director, you will work as part of a pod, where customers are shared along with a sales target. Our mantra is ‘best person for the job’ which ensures we can put the right salesperson in front of each of the different customer persona’s.

You  will form an integral part of a new team, working within a new vertical for CAE. Existing B/L and Cent Gov customers will be passed over to this team to manage and develop. A level of business development will be required by the pod, but we have strong support from our key vendors to help with this.

The main focus will be to create a vertical plan and execute upon plan in conjunction with the Head of Public Sector. This role requires a high performer with a proven track record and strong network of relationships,

previous experience of working within these verticals and understanding their challenges is of great importance. CAE will help and support you to develop those propositions and make them ready to go to market.

What you will be doing?

Your main responsibilities will include;

  • To be conversant technically with our key vendors, and to continuously increase product knowledge, sales skills / techniques and develop a strong commercial acumen
  • To build a new customer base
  • A willingness and desire to undertake training as required
  • Creating, maintaining and regularly updating a Personal Development Plan with timescales on own ‘self-learning’ areas and objectives
  • Creating and working in a collaborative and rewarding environment that portrays our company and team values

What is needed?

  • Good understanding and knowledge of MS Outlook, Powerpoint, word and Excel and Salesforce
  • Previous experience in vertical
  • Proven B2B sales experience and commercial awareness
  • Previous IT reseller or Industry experience, candidates should be familiar with dealing with the channel and distribution and have experience of selling support and managed services.
  • Confident in communicating at executive and Board of Governor level
  • Highly developed networking, relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Great presentation skills with the ability to persuade and influence
  • Proven ability to control costs to in line with project and budgetary expectations
  • Develop and deliver accurate sales forecasts in line targets


  • Knowledge of the Cisco CGOV/BL Team
  • A background in selling consultatively
  • Knowledge of the Dell DC Team
  • Good connections with industry peers
